LLO has a vibrant graduate student community that includes students pursing MS and PhD degrees through a variety of programs, including Water Resources Science (WRS), Integrated Biosciences (IBS), Chemistry, Geology, and Physics.
Regardless of which degree program is right for you, as a student at LLO you will have the opportunity to take unique courses and participate in cutting edge research on the world's large lakes.
Follow each program's link to learn about degree requirements, potential LLO advisors, and examples of research projects.
In addition to advising graduate students, LLO faculty also teach a sequence of courses on the science of lakes (limnology). These courses are officially part of the WRS Limnology and Oceanography Track, but they can also be taken as electives by graduate and advanced undergraduate students seeking other degrees. See our coursework page for details.
