Electrical Engineering Department
Preparing For Launch
Students in the Bulldog Rocketry Club spend the year prepping for the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition where last summer they took second place in their division. It's a chance to put what they've learned into practice and have a lot of fun along the way.
The Department of Electrical Engineering is focused on providing challenging hands-on laboratory and design components along with a thorough foundation in theory.
We also strive to give our students the skills to be life-long contributors to their profession and society.
The degrees we offer:
Our students inspire us with their ingenuity, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and we do our best to support their interests and passions.
Here in Electrical Engineering, we have an open door culture where students are always welcome to stop by and talk to their professors. And we often work one-on-one with students, getting them involved in research, outreach efforts and student club activities.
By working with an Industrial Advisory Board we stay in touch with workforce needs to ensure our students are well prepared for their future in the electrical engineering field.
We also participate in a wide variety of efforts to mentor youth and inspire STEM learning in people of all ages. Our students and faculty participate in programs organized by the Swenson College of Science & Engineering outreach program, we host tour groups, offer demonstrations at off-campus and campus events and host a camp every summer that gives middle school students the chance to learn about electrical engineering.
