Application Details

  • The application to try for the summer of 2017 program is not yet available. Applications are typically due in February and spots will be awarded based on a competitive evaluation of academic performance, transcript, personal statement and letters of recommendation.

  • Applicants must be undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry/Molecular Biology who have completed at least two years of college level chemistry and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

  • SURP Award winners are expected to complete a total of 10 weeks, approximately 40 hours per week, between May 31 and August 5.

  • Each participant is awarded $4,300. Housing, health insurance and transportation are not included in this award.
