Undergraduate electrical engineering students are encouraged to apply for annual engineering scholarships.

UMD Electrical and Computer Engineering Scholarships are made possible thanks to private gifts from alumni, industry and friends of the Department. The number and amount of scholarships are based on annual gifts to the fund.
UMD Thor A. Gustafson Scholarship provides scholarship support for UMD Electrical Engineering students who will be enrolled full time for fall and spring semester and in good academic standing. Two recipients are chosen each year and each student is awarded a $2,000Â UMD Thor A. Gustafson Scholarship.
UMD Robert J. Marchetti Engineering Scholarship is awarded to one student each academic year and the recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
To qualify recipients must show outstanding academic performance, be enrolled as a full-time (fall and spring semesters) UMD electrical engineering student, considered juniors or seniors in their major, have a demonstrated financial need based on FAFSA, and must be an active member of the UMD student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
