Research interests: 
Dr. Bai’s current research activities focus on semiconductor materials and devices, nano-optoelectronics, nano-photovoltaics, nonlinear optics, quantum optics and biomedical devices with both fundamental and applied interests.  Her research at UMD has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Whiteside Institute for Clinical Research, the Graduate School of University of Minnesota and MnDRIVE Initiatives.
