Dr. Yang received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park, in 1983 and 1988, respectively, and has been with the EE Department at UMD since September 1988. He has published over 100 technical journal and conference articles and book chapters, and has also been invited to serve on many conference organizing/program committees and conference sessions chairs. Dr. Yang's research interests include robust control, system theory, computer-aided control system design, robotics, optimization, and control applications. He is a senior member of the IEEE, and a member of the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society.
