Research
My lab's research focuses on studying how microorganisms interact with each other and their environment in large lakes. We are particularly interested in how nutrient cycles and bloom toxicity are influenced by these interactions. Our lab has a special interest in nitrogen cycling, especially nitrogen fixation, and organic sulfur cycling in water and sediments. To investigate these questions, we employ a range of molecular tools and cultivation approaches.
