Virtual Field Trips

Journey through the universe with planetarium staff in your own private virtual show. You will be able to talk with us in real time and ask us questions as we adventure together. You can pick from pre-set topics or make a special request. (Note: We may not be able to fulfill all special requests based on the technology available to us.)

Details and Price

  • The virtual show will be conducted over Zoom or Google Meet. If neither of those options works for you, let us know and we may be able to work something else out.
  • Virtual field trips are $20 for 30 minutes or $30 for an hour. If you are interested in a virtual field trip but you do not have a budget for field trips this school year, please email us ([email protected]) to discuss options.
  • Special request shows that require a lot of extra prep may have an additional charge.
  • Payment is required prior to your show. Payment through PayPal is preferred, but we can find other options if needed.
  • Once payment has been received, you will be sent your Zoom or Google Meet link.
  • Planetarium staff reserve the right to end a show early if attendees are being rude or disrespectful to staff or the other attendees. 
  • Shows will be canceled if attendees are more than 10 minutes late. 
  • In both cases above, there will be no refund issued.

  • Solar System Tour: Hop in our virtual spaceship as we explore the eight planets up close! In addition to the planets, we’ll learn about the Sun, some of the moons, and even visit the dwarf planet Pluto.

  • Classical Greek Skies: Many of the constellations you probably know were created by the ancient Greeks. Explore the skies and learn the Greek constellations and some of the stories behind them.

  • Moon Phases and Eclipses: Viewing the Earth-Moon-Sun system from both Earth and space, students will investigate the positions and motions of these objects, how they relate to each other, and explain how we perceive phases, and eclipses.

We will make observations on the ground and in space to better understand Earth’s motions. We will also track the movements of the planets among the stars over a period of time.
