Quantitative Resource Center
Welcome to the Quantitative Resource Center (QRC), located in the Securian Learning Commons and Math Lab. Made possible thanks to a major donation from Securian Financial Group, the space can accommodate up to 120 students and provides equipment that allows students to practice what they're learning.
Quantitative Resource Center Objectives: Student Support
The QRC aims to provide comprehensive, evidence-based academic resources:
● We offer a proctored testing area for assessment retakes to support outcomes-based
grading, initially rolling out for MATH 1005 (College Algebra) and MATH 1250
(Precalculus).
● Assessments feature flexible time limits designed to bridge the math anxiety gap while
limiting the influence of AI and online software to better assess students.
● We serve as a centralized tutoring center for almost all MATH/STAT courses through the
3xxx level.
● Students have full access to math course textbooks, software tutorials, TA/LA led
activities and practice exam sessions.
● We aim to ensure every student has a pathway to success; toward that end, the QRC
focuses on targeted remediation and exceptional instruction.
● Our Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Learning Assistants (LAs) receive training in
pedagogy and best practices in teaching/tutoring.
Location
The Quantitative Resource Center is located in KAML 206 and 208, which are on the second floor of the Kathryn A. Martin Library, 416 Library Drive.
Hours
Monday-Friday: 10 am - 4 pm
Closed on University holidays and breaks
