Latin Honors
Baccalaureate degree candidates who have done outstanding work may be awarded special honors upon completion of all degree requirements through graduation with Latin honors.
Swenson College has a policy that no more than 15% of the graduating class can graduate with honors. There are three levels of honors within this limitation; Summa, Magna and Cum Laude.
Each college identifies the criteria for Latin honors based upon the previous year’s (fall, spring and summer) graduating class GPAs. The honor levels for 2025-2026 are designated as follows:
| Honor Level | Percentage | Minimum Cumulative GPA |
|---|---|---|
| Summa Cum Laude | Top 0-3% (3%) | 3.989 |
| Magna Cum Laude | Top 4-8% (5%) | 3.946 |
| Cum Laude | Top 9-15% (7%) | 3.853 |
