Dana Lindaman, Assistant Professor of French, received a CLA Faculty GIS Grant for GAC assistance with his work on building an algorithm for text mining historical French novels. The algorithm will grab all geographical references and plot them onto historical maps of Paris, which will be georeferenced to align with modern, interactive maps that will allow spatially-correct temporal comparisons.
