Connecting with Our Community
Our faculty and students are involved in many outreach efforts.
We frequently host tour groups and provide fun, hands-on activities for youth (see above photo) to demonstrate the importance of civil engineering and the type of work we do.
Every year, we are excited to participate in Swenson College's Science & Engineering Day as well as host a toothpick bridge building competition for schools from all over northern Minnesota.

Current Students Also Benefit
In addition to the activities we offer to community members, we also make a point of welcoming new Civil students during Admitted Student Days by giving them a grand tour. Our faculty members meet one-on-one with students and parents to answer questions and help them prepare for their college journey during this event, too.
Every year, we also host a Career & Internship Fair where Civil Engineering students can meet representative from local businesses to learn more about the industry and make connections that can lead to job offers.
