Jerome Doede, an Earth & Environmental Sciences undergraduate student, recently completed a UROP project and presented his findings at the spring showcase with a poster titled "Separation of coral structures via pulse energy and physical separation."
UROP stands for Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program and is offered every year. Students are matched with faculty to get hands-on experience conducting research, analyzing the data gathered and presenting their findings to the public.
Doede was mentored by Dr. Christina Gallup, and he used the Research Instrumentation Lab's Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to take images of coral fragments. Congratulations Jerome!
