Barry Goldwater Scholarship

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship is designed to attract outstanding students into research careers in natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit to students who are sophomores or juniors during the current academic year, who have excellent academic records, and who have demonstrated interest in and potential or research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics, or engineering. The scholarship covers undergraduate eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board to a maximum of $7.500 per academic year. ACEC Scholarship 

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota is the leading business practice and policy advocate for consulting engineering firms in Minnesota. Our scholarship awards program is now open to students pursuing a bachelor's degree in an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) approved engineering program or in an accredited land surveying program. Students must be entering their junior, senior, or fifth year in the fall of 2019 in a qualifying program within the state of Minnesota and must be a citizen of the United States. AGC Education and Research Foundation Scholarship 

The AGC Education and Research Foundation, founded in 1968, has for more than 40 years made good on its commitment to support the future of our industry through its robust scholarship program and innovative projects. The AGC Education and Research Foundation offers undergraduate and graduate level scholarships to students enrolled in ABET, or ACCE accredited construction management or construction-related engineering programs. Deadline is Nivember 1st, 2018. https://www.agc.org 

UMD Civil Engineering Scholarships
Thanks to generous support from alumni, faculty and friends the department is able to provide scholarship support to full-time UMD civil engineering students. The number and amount of scholarships are based on annual gifts to this fund.

Other Scholarships

Many students receive scholarships from outside sources. Questions regarding these scholarships should be directed to the organization offering the scholarship. Students should verify the legitimacy of scholarships prior to applying. Below are links for outside scholarships that we are familiar with that are available to civil engineering students.

American Concrete Institute Scholarships and Fellowships: for undergraduate and graduate students involved in ACI and interested in pursuing a career or research in concrete.
