New XRF in RIL

A new X-ray fluorescence spectrometer is in the RIL.

The new X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) that was purchased in March 2017 has recently been transferred to the Research Instrumentation Laboratory for wide sharing.

The instrument, a Rigaku NEX CG, can measure the elemental composition of solid and liquid samples and will be useful for a variety of material research.

The laboratory also has two pieces of sample preparation equipment for XRF: fluxer and hydraulic press.
